The cast:

IN THE FRINGE is casting performers for the new musical Techies.
We are seeking:

  • Actors aged 16–26


  • Currently studying drama (at least undergraduate level)
  • Strong all-rounders: acting, singing, and dancing


  • Hard-working, collaborative team players

The timetable:

April 20: Application deadline
April 20 and 21, 2026: In-person auditions held in New York
April 21, 2026: In-person information session
July 13 – August 2, 2026: Rehearsals in New York
August 4, 2026: Cast departs New York
August 5, 2026: Cast arrives in Edinburgh
August 7–29, 2026: Edinburgh Fringe performances
August 30, 2026: Return flight to New York 

The package includes:

  • Round-trip flights from New York to Edinburgh or Glasgow


  • Private airport transfers to and from accommodation


  • Accommodation in central Edinburgh university residences
(private bedroom with shared kitchen and lounge)


  • City travel card for buses and trams


  • Historic Scotland Pass (castles, landmarks, museums)


  • Membership in the In The Fringe Cast and Braw Venues Artist Programme


  • Free tickets to all other shows hosted by Braw Venues

Costs:

Total package cost: $7,500 USD
Payment schedule:

  • 50% deposit ($3,750) upon acceptance of role


  • 25% ($1,875) due by April 1, 2026


  • 25% ($1,875) due by June 1, 2026



What you’ll need:

  • A waterproof jacket and sunscreen (it’s Scotland—both matter)


  • Spending money


  • Personal travel insurance


  • A great attitude and bags of talent

Legal Requirements:

  • You will require to have the correct insurance cover for your travel and stay and we will need to have a copy for your Insurance document. 
  • Emergency contact information is required in the event that we need to contact either your family or your chosen emergency contact, if required. 
  • All information that we hold will not be sold or shared to any other organisation and will be kept securely and only accessible to designated staff. 
  • 2 members of staff will be your personal contacts during the experience and they will have been vetted through the Scottish Government’s Disclosure system. 
  • This is not a supervised trip for the legal adult participants (18 and up) unless otherwise requested. Attendees will be responsible for their own behaviour and safety during the experience. We have insurance in place for all our actors and staff, as well as the building we use and any equipment that we have or hire.
  • Chaperones will be assigned to all participants under 18 and can be assigned to participants over 18 upon request. A chaperone fee of $1500 will apply to ages 16 and 17.
